- Played professional baseball for 19 seasons.
- Made his Major League debut for the Braves in 2003.
- Hessman is one of only four American minor leaguers to have hit over 400 home runs.
- Today he serves as the hitting coach for the Tigers AAA affiliate, Toledo Mud Hens.
